We spent three days out at Blue Rock Studio's in Wimberly, Texas, exploring these twelve songs, writing parts and tracking the instruments live. It was very important to us to record the band together like that, so as to preserve the "live" feel in the music. There is something about five musicians in the same room that you just can't fake. After Blue Rock I knew we had something special. Special in the sense that the music had taken on a life of its own. It knew what it wanted. We spent the next year and a half listening to its needs and feeding the tracks. The more time we spent with it the better it got. Then one day, we turned the last knob and it was done. There was no hunger left. It has been a dream of mine to make a record just like this and doing it all based at home - Austin, Texas - makes it that much sweeter. I owe a great deal to my friends and mentors, especially Keith Gary and Harlan Hodges, for making this project such a special journey.
I know that everybody, no matter who you or where you come from, has something very special to contribute to the collective. Something unique, something meaningful that only YOU can give.
